Trailer Left Turn Signal Does Not Work After Installing Hopkins Backup Camera on 2015 Ford F-150

Hello, I bought the HM0002 backup camera For a: 2015 Ford F-150 xlt super crew truck. After pluging in our trailer for the first time, we found that the left turn signal doesnt work, everything else works. Checking connections several times does not help. When pluging the factory connection back in, the turn signals will work normally. thanks for any help, it would be a great product.

It sounds to me like something is not wired correctly inside of the connectors on backup camera # HM50002. Make sure that on both halves of the connectors the wires are attached to the pins and that there are no broken wires or bent pins in the connectors.

The connectors are basically a pass-through device. The camera only needs the reverse light circuit to turn on (and the ground). So the only thing it could be is a broken connection from a wire or wires or bent/broken pins on the inside.

Worse case scenario instead of Teeing in the connectors you could splice the camera red wire to the reverse light wire on the tow package wiring (center pin) using a quick splice connector such as # SWC501746-1. The black wire would then ground to the ground wire but you could ground it to the frame as well.
