Demco Hijacker Auto Slide Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ford F-350 Short Bed

Question:

Hello looking to install the demco hijacker on a 2015 f 350 63/4 box, Ihave read that may not be a zero turn, wondering if you have had any feed back on that ,as well with a 14 inch travel any problems with that contacting tailgate. Thanks for expertise

Since your truck bed is a 6-3/4 foot bed in your 2016 Ford F-350 the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550038 would be an excellent choice as it fits the factory rail kit you have in your truck bed as well. If you are unsure if this would give you the needed turning clearance I have a formula that you can plug in the dimensions of your trailer and truck to see.

(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the fifth wheel jaw center to the truck cab
B = Offset used (14 inches for the slider hitch)
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2.

You will want to have right at 4 inches of clearance.

We haven't had any issues with the tailgates interfering with the Hijacker either.
