Sway Control Device Recommendation for Stopping Trailer Sway from Wind Gusts and Semi Trucks
Question:
I need to get some advice on which sway control device will help me while towing my travel trailer. I will try to provide you with all the pertinent information I think would help you make an informed recommendation. 1. I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LS 4WD equipped with the Towing Package which has airbags in the rear and it levels both the trailer hitch and rear of the car after the trailer is connected, so weight distribution isnt an issue. 2. I have a 2015 Keystone Laredo 23RB with a dry weight of 5385 lbs, cargo weight of 2160 lbs and 545 lbs at the tongue. 3. The trailer is 267inch including the hitch and bumper, it is 8foot wide and 111inch in height. 4. The hitch is a 2 15/16inch ball on a drawtite to the SUV. 5. The tires on the trailer are ST205/75R14C. I only have issues with wind gusts and the occasional passing big rig on the interstates. So my question is can I use the friction system with a good degree of confidence or do you feel that would not work well in my situation and if so what would you recommend? Thanks,

Friction sway control is perfect for the type of sway you are experiencing. The Reese part # 83660 is designed to reduce sway that comes from wind gusts and passing semi-trucks so it would be perfect for your application.
I attached an install video as well. You will also need the mounting bracket part # RP26003 for the smaller ball.
