Trailer Hitch for 2016 Dodge Durango that Hangs Below Bumper

Question:

The 2016 Durango has an opening in the bumper with a removable cap when using, is there not a way or a hitch that would work going through this opening of the the bumper?

All of the hitches we offer install to the frame of your 2016 Dodge Durango and then hang below the rear bumpers. Aftermarket hitches typically do not go through the openings in the rear fascia that is designed for the factory hitches to fit through. One advantage to this is that the hitch accessories wouldn't be difficult to pin into the hitch since you wouldn't have to reach up under the bumper to get the pin through.

The Curt hitch part # C13182 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Durango and would be a great option. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

For trailer wiring we have the Tow Ready part # 118617 as a confirmed fit as well.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
