Diode Kit Tow Bar Wiring Kit Recommendation for a 2015 Fiat 500

Question:

I am planning on flat towing a 2013 Fiat 500 behind a motorhome. The Motorhome has a combinedinch tail light output with the standard 4-wire output. The Fiat has a separateinch tail light system, however the brake and running lights share the same two element bulb. Could I disregard the Fiats turn signal lamp, and use the brake filament as my turn signal as a combined system does? I think I would need a 4 diode kit to isolate the RV inputs from backfeeding into the Fiat. What would you recommend? I do not want magnetic lights or to drill into the Fiat tail light housings. thanks,

What you described is what I typically recommend for people wiring up their separate circuit vehicle taillights with a diode kit. Having the taillights operate like a combined circuit is much easier to install and requires fewer diodes. It really is the way to go.

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
