To install the Draw-Tite 1-1/4 Inch Class I Hitch, # 24646, on your 2000 Hyundai Elantra you will need to remove the spare tire and two foam blocks from the trunk. Then, you will attach the hitch to the tow hook on the vehicle. Next, you will use the hitch as a template and drill two 1/2 inch holes into the underside of the spare tire well.
Install the hitch to the 1/2 inch holes in the vehicle with the supplied bolts and seal the holes to keep exhaust and water from entering the trunk. Reinstall the spare tire and the foam blocks and the installation is complete.
I am sending a link to the installation instructions for the Draw-Tite hitch which will show pictures and list all the tools needed to install the hitch.
