What is the difference in a load range B and a load range C tire

Load ranges will vary based on the tire size. For example a Load Range C tire in the 4.80-12 tire size like the part # AM30660 has a 990 lb capacity at 90 psi.

A Load Range C ST205/75D14 like part # AM3S440 would have a 1,760 lb capacity at 50 psi.

I wish I had a simpler answer to provide for you but basically it's a way to organize the capacity ranges for tire sizes. Basically a lower letter indicates a lighter duty for that size and higher is the opposite.

In the tire size chart I attached as well you can see the different sizes listed with each of the available Load Ranges and see what the capacities are.
