Hardware Needed To Install 277-000096 50 Amp Battery Disconnect Switch
Question:
What else do I need to connect this ?

Expert Reply:
The 50 amp battery disconnect switch would install inline on the positive battery cable. If there's enough slack in the positive cable to reach the area where you want to mount the switch, you'd simply cut disconnect the positive battery cable and cut it at the point where it reaches the terminals on the back of the switch. You'd need to install a ring terminal on the wire, but the size terminal you need will depend on the gauge of the wire used for the cable (the wire gauge should be printed directly on the wire). If it's a 1/0, you'd use a compatible ring terminal. If it's a 2/0, use # SWC57048.
If the switch isn't being mounted within reach of the cable, you'll need to fabricate a cable with the appropriate ring terminal on both ends, using the appropriate gauge wire to reach from the alternator to the switch, and another length of cable with a battery terminal on one end an the proper ring terminal on the other.
