Stabilization Strap for Non-Trailer Loads Required for Trailer Hitch # 11483, 2004 Infinity G35
Question:
Your installation instructions reference stabilization straps to be used when using a non-trailer load such as a bike rack or cargo rack. Please expand with more detail: 1. Where do the stabilization straps attached to? 2. What are the stabilization straps and are the stabilization straps offered or for sale thru etrailer?

Per Curt warranty requirements, you must use stabilization straps with any non-trailer load, such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, on a Class I or II Curt trailer hitch. The strap in question is Curt Bike Rack Strap with Cambuckle, # 18050.
One end attaches to the upright bar of a bike rack or attachment point on a cargo carrier, the other end attaches to the space between the trunk lid and body of the vehicle or another high point on the vehicle. Tighten the strap and it helps support the accessory installed in the trailer hitch. For a cargo carrier, I would recommend 2 straps and use one on each side of the carrier.
