Compatibility of Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rail Adapter to Curt A16 Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
Can this slider hitch be used in conjunction with the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs adapter? Looking at using this type of setup in my 2014 F150 with a 6.5 foot bed. I have the 2014 Ford F-150 Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs installed in my truck already. Looking for a setup i can utilize the existing hide-a-goose to fifth wheel. I noticed with my hide-a-goose the ball is a measureable amount forward of the axle so I need something to push the king pin more towards the rear of the truck without having to buy a $1,000 sidewinder.

The Curt X5 adapter you mentioned, item # C16210 is indeed compatible with Curt A16 Sliding Hitch item # C16521, but the adapter IS NOT compatible with your Reese Hide-A-Goose Gooseneck hitch you currently have. Unfortunately, Reese doesn't offer a rail adapter similar to the X5 that's compatible with their gooseneck hitches.
If your fifth wheel isn't set up like that, I'm afraid your best option would be to remove the existing gooseneck and install a fifth wheel hitch using the item # RP50081-58 mounting brackets/bed rails and a fifth wheel hitch like item # RP30051.
If you needed to tow a gooseneck at some point, you can use a plate adapter like item # 16055.
