Yes, your 2007 GMC Sierra comes wired for installation of the Draw-Tite # 5504 brake controller. There is a bundle of wires under the left side of the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The wires can be identified by a white label and the color of the wires. The wire colors are (1) Red/Black wire, (1) White wire, (1) Light Blue/White wire and (1) Dark Blue wire and possibly (1) Orange wire.

We have an FAQ article (see link) that explains exactly how to wire these wires to the wires coming from the back of the Draw-Tite # 5504 brake controller.

Once the brake controller wires are spliced to the under dash wiring you will need to make sure the brake control power wire and battery charge wire are connected to the power distribution box under the hood. If not you will need (1) M6 x 1.0 nut, item # 185916 and (1) M8 x 1.25 nut, item # 185917, to connect these wires to the power studs. The brake control wire is located between the power distribution box and the fender and the power wire is is located under the master cylinder/brake booster assembly.

If your vehicle does not have a 7-way connector installed at the back of the vehicle you can use either the Twist-in, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector for Chevy and GMC Vehicles - Vehicle End, item # PK11916, which installs in the rear bumper, or the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End. item # HM40975, which can be mounted under the bumper and provides a 7-Way and 4-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle.

One final recommendation would be that you consider a proportional brake controller. A proportional controller makes the braking system on the vehicle and trailer work together much better. The accelerometer in the brake controller senses how fast the vehicle is stopping and applies the appropriate amount of power to the trailer brakes. With the time delayed model the controller always sends the predetermined amount of power that you set to the trailer brakes, whether you are making a slow stop or an emergency stop.

The Tekonsha #9030 Voyager Brake Activator - Proportional, item # 39510, would be an excellent choice.
