Would a 15 inch Trailer Tire Be Able to Handle 65 PSI
Question:
I am trying to determine if my current trailer wheels can handle an upgrade from a C 50 PSI to a D 65 PSI tire. The trailer came with C tires I purchased it used. Here is the information from the wheel: Dexstar 15 X 6 JJ- the Dexstar item MFG no. is 017-233. The trailer is a 2007 if this helps. I have contacted Dexstar directly to ask the max PSI of this particular wheel but have not heard from them. Can you please help? Thank you,

Your wheel is going to have the capacity to go with higher capacity as most rims themelves have a 200 psi capacity. What you need to be aware of is the PSI capacity for the valve stem as that typically is the limiting factor. That being said when you replace the tires the shop is going to also replace the valve stems as that is standard practice. As long as you tell them that you need something rated higher than 65 psi you would be good.
Most likely you are looking at the size 205/75-15 based on the PSI ratings you listed and the fact that your wheel is 15 inches in diameter.
For that I would recommend the part # TTWTRTM2257515D which has the Load Range you want and because it is rated for up to 81 mph while most trailer tires are rated lower than that.
