If the lights inside the trailer, and other 12 volt accessories, run exclusively off of the 12 volt circuit from the 7-Way trailer connector you will need to mount a battery on the trailer to power them when the trailer is not plugged into the tow vehicle.
The way this would work is that the 12 volt wire from the 7-Way would go to the positive terminal on the battery. Your 12 volt accessories including the dome light would also need to connect to the positive battery terminal. That way when you are plugged in or not the 12 volt accessories will have power.
You can mount the trailer battery in a battery box. We have several kinds and I have included a link to them for you.
