Available Adapter to Tow 5th Wheel with Gooseneck Hitch in 2015 GMC Sierra 2500, 6-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
I have a 2015 GMC 2500 short box. I have a BandW turnover ball installed and a toolbox in the front of my bed. I have 10 inches of clearance from the center of the ball to the toolbox. Is there any 5th wheel hitch that would fit into the BandW hole that would allow me to leave my toolbox installed?

There are some adapters that will allow you to tow your 5th wheel trailer with your gooseneck hitch while still leaving your toolbox installed on your truck, but unfortunately there are not any 5th wheel hitches that will fit in the 10 space between the gooseneck ball hole and the toolbox on your truck.
To keep the toolbox installed while towing, you will want to use an adapter like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-To-Gooseneck Adapter with Offset # CAB-C5GX1216. This adapter will install on the 5th wheel king pin to allow you to hitch your 5th wheel trailer to the gooseneck ball. Since your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 has a 6-1/2 foot bed, the adapter offers an offset of 7-1/2 inches. This offset will help improve your turning clearance, but it still may not allow you to execute a 90 degree turn.
For you to have the best turning clearance, safest set-up, and best ride quality, I recommend removing the toolbox when you plan on towing so that you can use the 5th wheel hitch designed to fit your B&W Turnoverball, the Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel # BWRVK3400. This sliding hitch offers your 12 inches of travel from front to back in order to offer you better turning clearance with your short bed truck.
The Companion is designed by B&W for use in the Turnoverball # BWGNRK1012 gooseneck hitch for your Sierra. For this hitch to fit in the truck bed, you will need 15 inches from the center of the gooseneck ball toward the front of the truck clear.
