Roof Rack Solution to Carry Tow Kayaks on Roof Of 2002 Honda Civic 2 Door Coupe
Question:
HI, We want to carry two kayaks on a car with no roof racks. What system would you recommend?

Expert Reply:
To carry two kayaks, you'd really need to install a roof rack as a first step.
Yakima offers the most economical roof rack option for your 2002 Civic. The rack system would consist of the following components:
Yakima 48 inch round crossbars, part # Y00408
Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers, part # Y28TR
Yakima Round Bar Adapter, part # Y03536
Vehicle Specific Fit Kits, part # Y06159 and # Y06162
For carrying two kayaks, I'd recommend the Thule Stacker, part # TH830. The carrier includes bow/stern tie downs and straps for securing the kayaks to the Stacker.
