Can Head of Lippert Electric Trailer Jack LC285318 Be Rotated 90 Degrees to Clear Lowered Tailgate
Question:
Can the control head be turned 90 degrees? My tailgate will not clear when lowering it. It hits the switches. The jack is on a Surveyor travel trailer.

The mounting plate on the Lippert electric jack # LC285318 is designed in such a way that it would not line up quite right if you turned the jack (the head by itself cannot be turned). The easiest solution to this problem is to use a longer ball mount so there is plenty of room to lower the tailgate.
I have included a link to our ball mount main page for you. Compare the length of your existing ball mount with ones we carry with the same rise/drop and capacity to find one that is longer.
