The best location for the Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, on your Ford F350 7.3L Diesel would be between your vehicle grille and the air conditioning condenser. This location will give you the most airflow and allow the maximum cooling ability of the heat exchanger. You will want to measure to make sure you have clearance to install the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger measures 11 inches wide x 12 inches tall x 7/8 inch deep.
The Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, is the best cooler we carry and will fit on your Ford F-350 with 7.3L diesel. The Derale transmission cooler will fit inline with your factory transmission cooler.
Depending on the year of your Ford F350 7.3L Diesel you will also need the adapter fittings that are needed to connect the Derale transmission cooler to your vehicle.
If you have a 1999 to 2004 model year you will also need the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury, # D13025. This adapter will allow you to connect the transmission cooler to the factory transmission cooler in your radiator tank without cutting or flaring of lines.
If you have a 1988 to 1998 model year you will need to check the size of your transmission cooler fittings on your radiator. The Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury, # D13024, will be used if you have 1/2 inch-20 inverted flare fittings and the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford and Mercury, # D13014, is used if you have 1/4 inch NPT or 3/8 inch NPT fittings.
