2-Kayak Carrier for 2016 Honda CR-V with Factory-Installed Roof Crossbars
Question:
I have a 2016 Honda CRV and would like to haul 2 kayaks and preferably an easy one person loading system. Any products available? I have Honda installed cross bars. Thanks for any help!

You have a few options in how you can transport your two kayaks on your 2016 Honda CR-V that has factory-installed roof crossbars. These include carriers that offer assisted loading, such as the Yakima roller carrier # Y04083-04082 as well as very cost-effective foam block carriers that mount on your factory bars. Note that in order to use two of the Glide and Set your crossbars have to provide 53-inches or more of available space.
The best way to help decide which way to go is to confirm the weight of your kayaks and also the car's roof weight-carrying capacity, which should be noted in your owner's manual. My research indicates a maximum load rating of 165-lbs, but I suggest you check your manual too. This total capacity must include the weight of the kayak carriers you choose plus the weight of the two kayaks. If you find that your boats are on the heavier side and that together they approach the car's limit, then the super-lightweight foam block carriers are the way to go. If the kayaks are only 40-50-lbs apiece, then you can use other types of carrier. The linked article will give you food for thought on which way is best for your particular kayaks.
If your kayaks are not longer than 10-feet a good option from Thule is their Stacker, part # TH830, shown in the other video. This carrier can handle up to 4 kayaks.
The linked page will display all kayak carriers that will fit on factory bars. Please feel free to let me know a bit about your two boats and I will be happy to help you find your best item.
