Where Can Scissor Jacks Be Mounted On 2014 Evergreen Bay Hill Fifth Wheel Trailer
Question:
We have a 2014 Evergreen Bay Hill 340RK 16000 lb GVWR fifth wheel with the six point installed. We still have a fair bit of bounce when walking in the trailer. We would like to install a set of scissor jacks at the rear. I have 13 inches from the I- beam to the edge of the trailer and approx 20 inches from the ground to the bottom of the I-beam frame. My question is does the scissor jack have to be installed along the I-beam frame near a crossbeam, or can it be installed anywhere along the I-beam frame??

I talked to one of our Experts who does a lot of traveling with a fifth wheel trailer and they said with a 6-point system you may need a little tweaking to eliminate some of the bounce you said you are having. When leveling your system you want to raise the trailer until it just takes a little tension off the trailer suspension. He told me you can usually hear the system change as it hits that point.
With that being said you sure can add scissor jacks like the Ultra-Fab, part # UF48-979002 to your trailer for added stability. You can place them anywhere you have the room on your I-beam as long as you have clearance. These jacks measure 26 inches when collapsed and have a lift up to 24 inches. These jacks measure 4-3/4 inches tall when collapsed.
To make it easier to operate the jacks you may want to check out the power drill adapter, part # UF48-979005. This adapter will work with 3/8 inch drills to eliminate hand cranking.
