Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems like part # EQ37100ET would work well for towing your 7000 lb trailer. You need to pick out a system that is rated for the loaded tongue weight of your setup though. Keep in mind that any cargo loaded behind the rear axle of the truck is tongue weight.

For a 7,000 lb trailer you would be looking at a tongue weight range of between 700 and 1,050 lbs which would fall right into the range of the # EQ37100ET but most likely you would need to go with a higher rated system like # EQ37120ET which has a tongue weight range up to 1,200 lbs.

To change to a 2 inch ball you would need the thin walled socket part # ALL643216 and the hitch ball # EQ91-00-6080.
