Would 2016 Subaru Forester Need Exhaust Turn Down When Carrying Cargo Carrier

It would probably be a good idea to put a turndown on the exhaust of your 2016 Subaru Forester if you installed the Curt Carrier part # C18113 and you planned on carrying things that would melt easily. We haven't had any issues with this carrier causing heat related problems from exhaust, but that doesn't mean it's not possible.

When we installed the Curt Hitch part # C13144 on a 2016 Forester just like yours exhaust was just a couple inches above the hitch opening so I could see there possibly being an issue.

You might find a local exhaust shop near you to fit your tailpipe with a turndown.
