The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, # RP66082, that you mentioned will give you a 6-1/2 inch rise, but it will not give you a 6 inch drop. If you need a shank that will give you a 6 inch drop, then you will want to order the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System without a shank, # RP66072, and the Reese Weight Distribution Shank, # RP3215. These two items will give you the same system as part # RP66082, but with a shank for a 6 inch drop.

Keep in mind, this system has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 600 lbs. When choosing a weight distribution system, the most important factor is the tongue weight. Be sure you know the loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer and you will want to add the weight of any cargo stored in the back of your tow vehicle behind the rear axle. This will give you your total tongue weight that the weight distribution system will handle.

If you find that your total tongue weight might exceed 600 lbs, then I suggest stepping up to the next size system, part # RP66073. This system has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 800 lbs and it is compatible with the shank I mentioned above, # RP3215.

Also keep in mind, these systems do not come with a hitch ball. If you need a 2 inch ball, then you will want part # A-90. For a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 19286.

I have attached an installation video of the Strait-Line weight distribution system for you to check out. I have also attached a couple help articles on tongue weight and weight distribution for you.
