Due to the weight of your e-bikes, the only solution that we can safely recommend would be to use a trailer hitch, like the Curt Class I Hitch, # C11422, and a hitch mount bike rack that can handle the weight of your bikes and the fat tires of your husbands bike. I know you aren't interested in this route, but it is going to be the only way to make sure your vehicle and bikes avoid any damage.
If cost is a concern, the most economical bike rack that we offer that can support both bikes is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # HLY74FR. Hollywood Racks makes a quality bike rack, but they save on cost by avoiding the fancy designs that other companies use to save the customer money. The Sport Rider has an 80 pound per bike like You will also need to use a stabilization strap, # 18050, when carrying a bike rack on your vehicle to comply with Curt's trailer hitch warranty. I have attached a video that shows how to use the stabilization strap.
Unfortunately, your bikes are too heavy for any trunk mount or roof mount bike racks on the market. You will also find it a lot easier to load your bikes on a platform-style hitch mounted bike rack over a roof mounted or trunk mounted bike rack.
