The Edge Insight CTS2, # EP84130, is a gauge display, not an actual performance tuner. There are no actual performance tuners for your 2015 Acura MDX that will increase engine performance when towing, but the CTS2 system can help improve fuel mileage while towing a 5,000 lb trailer if you use the Mileage Coach app.

The Mileage Coach monitors your MPG and shows how your driving habits affect your fuel mileage. The app will tell you if you are driving or braking too aggressively while towing, which will hurt your fuel economy, and you can gauge exactly how to drive to maximize your fuel economy.

Another item that you will want to consider if you don't already have one is a transmission cooler like part # D13502. According to Acura, the maximum towing capacity of your MDX is 5,000 lbs, but only if you have a transmission cooler. This will not have much of an affect on fuel mileage, but it will have a significant impact on your transmission, especially if you are like most of use and plan on doing some of your towing in the hot summer months. Most transmission failures are due to overheating and towing at a vehicle's maximum capacity will cause the transmission fluid temperature to exceed the normal operating temperature.
