Installation Kit for a 2011 Ford F-250 with or without the Factory 5th Wheel Prep Package

Question:

I have purchased a 5th wheel trailer and also acquired the hitch RP 30033. It was previously mounted in a 2005 GMC 8foot bed pickup. Can I use the mounting bolts and brackets that were used for the GMC or do I have to purchase adapter mounting for my Ford?

You will need the proper installation kit for your 2011 Ford F-250 to install and use Reese hitch # RP30033. It your truck came with the factory prep package with the 4 pucks in the bed then you will need adapter # RP30156. The adapter has a max capacity of 20,000 pounds so that is what the hitch will be limited to (and that still may exceed the capacity of the truck so always go by the lowest rated component in the system).

If the truck did not come with the factory prep package then I recommend custom installation kit # RP50026-58 because with the custom kits there is less drilling required so they install in less time.
