Recommended 3-Bike Rack Carrier for a 2014 Prius V with Class I Trailer Hitch

Question:

Hav full suspension MTB, hard tail MTB and a cruiser. I have a Saris porter 4 bike rack. I was planning on installing a trailer hitch to carry them but read on your site that class 1 can only carry 2 though it has a 200lb tongue weight. What options do you recommend?

I have a solution for you, but the reason that you should only load 2 bikes on the Saris Porter bike rack when using a Class I hitch, is because with 3-4 bikes loaded, even if you are under the tongue weight, there is too much weight that is far from the hitch. This produces more torque on the tongue and can actually bend or twist the Class I hitch.

You will want to transport the third bike on the roof of your 2014 Prius V with a roof rack and roof bike rack carrier like the # INA389. I recommend the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack System for your Prius V, because of its price point, the square bars will be most compatible with accessories on the market, and it comes with the locks included. It is made up of the following parts # INB127 (2 crossbars), # INSUT (4 feet), and # INK870 (custom fit kit).

I have linked all the above mentioned parts as well as all the roof racks confirmed to fit your vehicle to this page for your convenience.
