Rooftop cargo baskets like the Rhino-Rack # RMCB02 can fit most types of roof crossbars, including your factory-installed bars, as long as the bar dimensions do not exceed 3-1/2-inches in width and 1-1/4-inches in height. The bars' centers also need to be between 25-1/2- and 43-inches apart. If your roof rack meets these criteria then the Rhino-Rack RMCB02 basket will fit well.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Highlander's roof weight capacity needs to be enough for the combined weight of the basket plus the weight of your loaded cargo.
For maximum carrying capacity select a basket that is lightweight, which leaves more of the roof's capacity available for your actual cargo. For a lightweight basket Thule's Canyon XT carrier # TH859XT is an excellent option as it weighs only 29-lbs. You can use a cargo net like # TH692 if you like.
