Recommended Hitch Bike Carrier That Provides Full Vehicle Cargo Area Access on 2016 Dodge Durango

I have a 2016 Dodge Durango. Does this bike rack tilt away from the vehicle with the bikes on so that I can get to the back without having to remove bikes?

The Saris Thelma 3 Bike Platform Rack SA4239B folds up against the back of the vehicle for storage when empty but it does not tilt down when loaded to give you rear cargo area access. For a tilting platform rack for three bikes I suggest the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU24FR, shown in the linked video in use on a Durango.

For a quality hanging style rack that does give you full rear cargo area access, even with bikes loaded, you can use Yakima's FullSwing # Y02465 with 4-bike capacity. This rack swings away to the passenger-side of the vehicle to give you full access to the rear of the vehicle even when you're carrying a full load of bikes. The two linked videos will show you these carriers in use.

If any of your bikes does not have a top frame tube (as is found on a typical man's bike) then you'll want to add to any such bikes an adapter bar like # UB01 which simply connects between the seat post and handlebar stem.
