How Is Curt Class l Trailer Hitch Attached On 1991 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Good Evening or Morning, Does the hitch mount between the rear frame cross member and the bumper support? Does it require drilling the rear frame cross member? 3/8? Target vehicle is the staff car - 1991 420SEL. Thanks for your help.

The Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11711 installs by attaching bolts to both the cross member and the bumper support. I have attached a drawing included with the installation instructions that shows where the hitch is attached on your 1991 Mercedes you can check out. When installing the hitch drilling is required.

This is a Class l trailer hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
