What Wiring Adapter is Needed for a Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a 2000 Chevrolet Express Van
Question:
I purchased wiring kit 119178KIT and I was wondering if this brake controller would be compatible with that and my 2000 Chevy Express without the Tow Package.

For a complete brake controller installation, you will need a brake controller # C24VV, wiring adapter # C51515, wiring harness # 118377 and our Universal Brake Controller Install Kit # ETBC7. The wiring kit you purchased, The Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit # 119178KIT, will fit your 2000 Chevrolet Express Van and is compatible with the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller # C51140. However, the wiring harness you purchased is not the best option because you will have to cut and splice the Vehicle Wiring.
I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118377 because you do not need to cut or splice into any vehicle wires. This harness has plug-in T-connectors so all you have to do is plug the harness into your vehicle's wiring harness and lights.
The Curt TriFlex Trailer Controller will then need Curt Wiring Adapter # C51515 to connect the brake controller to the setup. Lastly, you will need the etrailer Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
I attached a link to the help article on brake controller installation and a link to a video review of the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller you may want to check out. I also attached a video installation of the Universal Wiring Kit on a 2012 Chevrolet Express Van, which is the same process for your 2000 Chevrolet Express Van.
