Demco or Pull Rite Auto Slide Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Question:

Ive ordered a 2016 Ford F 250 Crew Cab, 4x4 - Short Box, w/ the Ford Prep-Puck system. I am also planning to buy and pulling a ~10,000 lb. fifth wheel. I am requesting a recommendation on automatic sliding fifth wheel, and do not desire to use a supplemental adapter/conversion assembly. I want the hitch to into the puck system, and lock down. No conversion mount/ plug and play. I had kind of settled on a Demco DM8550038, but a local RV dealer said Pull-rite is better... I know nothing, but im pretty confident that e you do. What are the choices? Please list advantages/disadvantages of the Demco, Pullrite, or anything else that might be out there in automatic sliders that are designed to fit right into the Ford Reese type? prep kit. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and recommendations.

The Demco Hijacker Hitch part # DM8550024 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2016 Ford F2350 with hitch package and short bed and would be what I would recommend for you. It would not require any rail kit adapters either.

It is very similar to the Pullrite Superglide in operation. I have read many online reviews on other sites and forums where people compare the two saying that the Demco costs less and tends to be more reliable so I would highly recommend it for you.

Also, the Demco does not require the use of a capture plate like the Pull-Rite so that is one less thing to buy. Certain pin boxes that are unusual require locking plates, but that is not the norm.

I attached a review video that shows how the Demco operates when installed in a truck bed. The video shows the version of the hitch that installs in above-mounted bed rails but the operation of the auto-slide is the same.
