Can CE Smith Galvanized Panel Bracket be Used with a Stainless Steel Shaft

Question:

Is this 12inch bracket, # CE10305G, hot dipped galvanized? Can I use a stainless steel shaft in it without fear of corrosion? Would they be compatible? If not, do you sell a compatible 5/8inch x 26inch galvanized shaft that could be used in the bracket without fear of corrosion? Given my tight fitting situation, I would like to run one shaft through two adjacent brackets attached to treated wood.

CE Smith Panel Bracket # CE10305G is galvanized steel but the method of which the zinc coating was applied would not matter in terms of galvanic or dissimilar metal corrosion. Stainless steel and galvanized steel work well together with only a slight and minor chance of there being any corrosion. Of course in salt water environments it will increase that chance. So you can use a stainless steel shaft. This bracket takes a 5/8 inch diameter shaft. We do not have stainless steel shafts though so you would need to obtain one locally.
