5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendations for a 2016 Ford F-250
Question:
we have a 2016 Ford F250 diesel with 6.5 foot bed and we are purchasing a Grand Design super-lite 27RL which states it has aerodynamic front cap with Max Turn Radius and extended pin box. Do we need to purchase a standard fifth wheel hitch, slider hitch or sidewinder? thank you for your advice.

The Grand Design 5th wheel trailer that you plan to buy is designed to be towed with a short bed truck. You will not need to have a Sidewinder and may not need to have a slider. However a slider may still be a good idea because like I say you never know what you might tow!
If your 2016 Ford F-250 short bed has the factory 5th wheel prep package then I recommend the Demco HiJacker # DM8550024 because it offers 14 inches of travel and will slide automatically.
If your truck did not come with the factory prep package I recommend installation kit # DM8552000-71 and then hitch # DM8550034 to fit the rails included with the installation kit. It is the same hitch with the only difference the way in which each mounts to the truck.
If you want to just use a fixed hitch and not a slider and the truck has the factory prep package the B&W hitch # BWRVK3300 is a popular, USA-made hitch that will fit.
If the truck does not have the factory prep package then I recommend install kit # RP50026-58 to minimize drilling and install time and the tried and true Reese 16K hitch # RP30047.
