Weight Distribution Recommendation for 1999 Chevy Suburban K2500 Towing Pace Outback
Question:
I have a 1999 Suburban K2500 with trailer package including factory 2inch receiver rated for 5,000/500 lbs Weight Carrying and 10,000/1,000 lbs for Weight Distributing. I need to haul a Pace Outback OB7X16TE cargo trailer, tandem axle, curb weight 2,210 lbs 7,000 lbs GVWR, hitch weight of 265 lbs. I assume that is the unloaded tongue weight of the trailer. I will probably have 200 lbs in the rear of the Suburban when towing the trailer. I am looking at your WD systems PS49582 or PS40583. What do you recommend? Thank you,

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Most likely when the trailer is loaded with the cargo in the back of the vehicle too you are going to be right near the 1,000 lb tongue weight limit. So between the two you mentioned you would want the part # PS49583 as it has a tongue weight range 600-1,000 lbs.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
