Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a Jayco 264BHW
Question:
I have a 2003 F150. Im planning on purchasing a new Jayco 264BHW. Empty weight of 4550 tongue wight 490lbs. Fully loaded with our gear I anticipate the weight to be between 5,000 and 5,300 lbs. and tongue wight around 575-650lbs. Rough guess. Please recommend a weight distribution hitch that will help prevent sway. Reese, Equalizer and Blue Ox all seem to offer a hitch for this, which one is the best for my application? Secondly I plan on ordering the trailer with Jaycos intergrated Electronic sway control. Would the effectiveness of the hitch render the trailers sway control useless? Thanks,

For the tongue weight range of 575-650 lbs you mentioned the weight distribution system I would recommend the Strait Line system part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400 to 800 lbs which would be perfect for you and also because it features the only sway control on the market designed to fight sway before it starts.
The trailer you are looking at has the new Lippert Sway Command system that detects sway and then applies the trailer brakes in a way to reduce sway. It would not interfere with the WD system with sway control that I recommended. In fact, the two system would work well together.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
