Can Longer Crossbars be Used with Rhino-Rack System on 2012 Ford Fiesta

Question:

I have a 2012 ford fiesta hatchback. I was wondering if the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black is available in 48inch length? If not, Ill go with the Yakima instead. Thanks,

Rhino-Rack does have longer crossbars than the 44 inch bars that are recommended for your 2012 Ford Fiesta, but I cannot recommend that you try to use a larger bar. There is a limited amount of space on the underside of the bar where the bar mounts to the rack foot, so a larger crossbar will not fit on the rack feet on your Fiesta. Rhino Rack also does not recommend sizing up crossbars for safety issues.

We do offer a number of longer crossbars confirmed to fit your Fiesta if you need a crossbar that is around 48 inches long. Yakima, as you referenced, recommends 50 inch long crossbars. For a roof rack with their CoreBar, you will want the CoreBar Crossbars, 50 Inches, Black # Y00421; the BaseLine Towers # Y28TR; and the BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06148. If you'd like to upgrade the crossbar so there is a top mount channel, you can use the JetStream Crossbar, 50 Inches, Black # Y00425.
