Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier for a 2015 Nissan Rogue to Carry a Buddy 50 Scooter
Question:
I need to l haul a Buddy 50 motor scooter about 200 miles. I believe it weighs about 220 pounds. Is there a hitch mounted carrier you can recommend? I have seen several that go with a two inch receiver and claim capacity of 300-500 pounds, but am not sure what will work with my vehicle, or whether I cant do that and need to get a two inch hitch with lights and haul a motorcycle trailer?

First, if your 2015 Nissan Rogue does not already have a 2 inch trailer hitch I recommend getting one, # 75902, because they are built more robust than smaller hitches and you will need that robustness when carrier a scooter on a hitch mounted carrier. Also all of the carriers that have ramps and that would be a good fit require a 2 inch trailer hitch.
The hitch is rated for 350 pounds tongue weight which will be enough for the combined weight of a 220 pound scooter and the carrier. For a carrier you can use # PS10401-10402 which has a 48 inch long ramp and weighs about 101 pounds. The deck is 47-3/4 inches by 31-3/4 inches. I have linked a video review for you.
