Could the Roadmaster High Low Adapter RM-076 be Used for Carrying Cargo Carrier
Question:
I am using a hitch I purchased from Etrailer, #75673 for my 2013 Subaru Outback. I want to buy a RoadMaster #RM-076 to mount a cargo carrier, total anticipated load is 65# Your thoughts?

Expert Reply:
The tongue weight capacity of the part # RM-076 is 100 lbs so it would be rated for the 65 lbs you plan to carry.
It shouldn't be a problem for the # 75673, but using this type of adapter will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent.
If you are in need of a cargo carrier the Curt part # C18100 is a lightweight aluminum carrier that comes in at 31 lbs.
