Best Adapters for Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with Gooseneck Hitch in a 2015 Ram 2500 Short Bed

Best goose neck to 5 th wheel adapter for 2015 dodge 2500 megacab 4*4 short bed

The best 5th wheel to gooseneck adapters are the Reese Goose Boxes. There are several Goose Boxes and each fits in place of certain pin boxes.
# RP85FR fits Lippert 1621, and 1621HD pin boxes and is rated for 20,000 pounds.
# RP94716-61301 fits Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716 pin boxes and is rated for 16,000 pounds.
But depending on the width of the trailer the Goose Box may not work because they do not offer much, if any, additional extension.
That leaves adapters that fit in the gooseneck ball hole and allow you to place a 5th wheel hitch in them. If you have a B&W Turnover Ball hitch you can use # 16310 and a slider hitch that fits above the bed rails. Or the Companion slider, # BWRVK3400.
If you have a Curt Double Lock gooseneck hitch you could use adapter # C16210 with a slider hitch. If you go with one of the Curt X5 adapters and a sliding hitch I recommend Demco auto-sliding hitch # DM8550034 because it slides automatically and has 14 inches of travel.
