Compatibility of Tow Ready Spare Tire Lock with Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier
Question:
Hello: I am buying a Fulton Hi-Mount Spare tire carrier Part number FSTC1000301 and also, I like to buy Spare tire lock Part number FSTL0603, to secure the wheel and tire on the mount. Would this lock be the appropriate for the size of nut of the Mount? Also, I like to buy a wheel lock set part number RG01-150 to use them on the bolts that fasten the Spare Tire carrier to the tong of the trailer. Would this wheel lock be OK, for the bolt size of these bolts? Do you have a set of 4 wheel lock?

The Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FSTC1000301 is a great choice for a spare tire carrier. The bolt that holds the wheel onto the spare tire carrier is a 1/2 inch - 13 bolt that is 1-1/2 inches long. Since the bolt is smaller than 9/16 inches, the Tow Ready Spare Tire Lock # FSTL0603 will work well with the spare tire carrier. This spare tire lock will keep the wheel secured to the spare tire carrier. I've attached a review video of this lock for you.
The Wheel Lock Set # RG01-150 that you referenced is designed to fit over 1/2 inch wheel bolts, and will not work to secure the mounting bolts of the spare tire carrier. The bots that go around the trailer frame on this carrier are only 3/8 inch bolts, and unfortunately there are no bolt locks designed to fit that small of a bolt. The best option for securing the spare tire carrier to the trailer is to use some tack welds. Tack welds can be used to keep the carrier on the trailer or at the hardware to keep the nut and washer secured to the back mounting brackets.
