Adding a Trailer Hitch and Sway Control Only to a 2005 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
I have a 2005 Tacoma Access cab 4 cylinder, with a ball hitch through the bumper. Im planning on towing a 1500lb popup camper and interested in a sway bar system. I plan on going about 4hrs highway to the camp site and a 4 hr trip home several times a year. What would you recommend? Should I put on a different trailer hitch such as the kind that bolts into the frame? Can you recommend a sway bar package that would work for the bumper ball and also a sway bar and bolt on a hitch. My truck is only rated to tow 3500lbs and my camper has no breaks so I do not need anything too over the top. Thanks much

There isn't a good way to use sway control on the bumper on your 2005 Toyota Tacoma so the best solution is a frame mounted trailer hitch # 75236. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver. Then you could add sway control bar # 83660 and you would need bracket # RP26003 to be able to use just the sway control. Since all you really need is sway control this is the best set up.
