Can the Thule T2 Pro XTR Part # TH69TX Be Used as a 2 Bike and 4 Bike Rack

Question:

Does this bike rack convert to a 2-bike carrier as well or would I need to get the 2 bike version with the 2 bike addition?

The Thule T2 Pro XTR Part # TH69TX that you referenced can be either used as a 2 bike or 4 bike rack. This part number basically includes the 2 bike rack plus the expansion.

So if you needed to only carry 2 bike you would be able to remove the expansion and then when you need to carry 4 bikes you would be able to reinstall it and be ready to go.

Jameson, Thank you for your response and insight. How does weight capacity per bike change if carrying 2 vs 4? I have Serial 1 Rush bikes , 59lbs each . Could 4 of these be carried at one time ?

@MarkZ Without the 2 bike extension it has a 60 lb per bike capacity but with it the overall capacity is 160 lbs.

I like this option of either 2 or 4 when traveling in our RV. The only concern is, all my Serial 1 e-bikes have fenders and will this rack handle the weight of 2 or 4 of this style ebikes ?

@Mark The capacity for the rack is: Weight capacity (total): 160 lbs Without 2-bike expansion accessory: 60 lbs per bike Which would work to carry two of your bikes but not more than that since I checked and your bikes weigh 59 lbs. Fenders would be an issue though.
