Will Yakima FullSwing be Compatibile with Factory 2 Inch Trailer Hitch on a 2016 Volvo XC90?

Any issues or experience I should know about before ordering. Most times will only transport two bikes, want the four unit when two couples travel together. 2016 Volvo XC90 w/factory installed 2X2 hitch.Y02465

There are a couple things you will want to check out to ensure that the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465 is the correct bike rack for your factory hitch on your Volvo XC90.

First thing you check is that you will have enough bumper clearance. This measurement is the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper. The FullSwing requires a 9 inch of bumper clearance or less. I have linked a help article to this page for better assistance in determining this on your vehicle.

The next thing you will want to do is make sure that your factory hitch and your vehicle can support the weight of the bike rack. The max weight of the 4 bikes plus the weight of the carrier is 216lbs. You should be able to find the weight capacity of your factory hitch on the hitch itself or on a placard on the inside of your driver's front door. In my research I found that your owner's manual has some helpful tips on determining weight capacity on pages 479-480.

If any of your bikes have alternative frames, like many women's bikes do, you will need a bike adapter bar like # Y02531 to mount the bike properly into the rack.
