Solution for 2010 Nissan Frontier Where Trailer Running Light Circuit isnt Active

Question:

I have no running lights on my trailer. I have brake lights and left/right turn signals. The fuse box right behind the battery is fully loaded with relays and as best as I can determine the wiring in the passenger kick panel is installed. The truck did not come from the factory with an installed hitch. The dealer added it after delivery. Also, testing the 7 pin connector at the back of the truck shows no power going to the pin for running lights. Where would this additional relay be located on a 2010 Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4? How do I get it. Thanks,

This is a common issue on certain Nissan vehicles. You are likely missing a blue relay for the trailer running lights in the tow package wiring on the Frontier or the relay could have gone bad.

There is an additional relay that may be required behind the passenger side kick panel in the harnesses that are there. If you check out the picture I attached you will see where the blue relay from the Curt Relay Kit would install.
The Curt Relay Kit is part # C57000.

To access the area where the relays will be installed you will need to remove the passenger side kick panel and locate the 12 pin connector that will have the harness plugged into it that the relays install to. See the install video I attached also.
