Hitch Accessory/Ball Mount Stabilizer for Trailer Hitch with No Clearance on Receiver Shank

Question:

Hi..... Was wondering If this stabilizer will work on my hitch.... Just looking at the picture Im wondering if the oval cutouts for the chain on the lower section of my receiver will interfere with the RHSB. Ive attached a picture in case it helps or am I just better off with a wedge Thanx

I have a solution for you, but the Brophy Stabilizer Bracket # RHSB that you referenced will not work on your hitch. You are correct that the safety chain loop brackets will interfere with the stabilizer. The # RHSB requires 1 inch minimum clearance from the front of the hitch in order to mount.

If your ball mount or hitch accessory that you are wanting to stabilize has a hollow shank, an Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2 Hitches # 63232 will work well for you. This anti-rattle lock will install with the spring and threaded block inside the hitch while the pin goes through the hitch and threaded into the bolt on the inside of the shank. This will pull the shank tight to the side of the hitch receiver to help prevent rattle. I've attached a review video of this anti-rattle hitch lock for you.

If you'd like to use a wedge, a great option is the Trailer Hitch Wedge # RM-061-125. This wedge will install inside the hitch receiver on one end and the other end will secure around the hitch pin. Based on your photo, it looks like your hitch lock will offer just enough room to install the bolt of this hitch wedge. I've attached a review of the Boone wedge for you as well.
