Troubleshooting T-Connector Wiring Harness Installation On 2015 Kia Sorento

Hi, I just purchased and installed the C56256 Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector for my 2015 Kia Sorento V6 Without Factory Tow Pkg. Plugged it into my trailer, and the driver side trailer light does not illuminate with blinker, or brake. Passenger side works great. Any tips on where I should begin troubleshooting? Thank You,

When installing a T-connector like part # C56256 and getting no signal to some of the wiring, the problem is the ground.

Make sure the ground is attached to a clean bare metal surface and then recheck the lights. You can make sure you are getting current to the trailer plug by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. Have someone sit in the driver seat of your Sorento and run through the functions while you test the pins.

Make sure all of the connectors are securely attached and you may want to use some dielectric grease when making any electrical connections to help keep moisture and dirt out.
