Will Curt Class III Hitch, # 13530, Fit A 2005 Lexus RX 330 AWD And Is A Converter Box Needed
Question:
Will this hitch fit my 4 wheel drive model? Lexus dealer says I need to have a $300 converter box installed with this hitch assembly. Is this true? Do you sell?

The Curt Class III Hitch, # 13530, will fit your 2005 Lexus RX330 AWD. It has a towing weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs.
The dealer is talking about the wiring harness needed for towing. Because your vehicle has LED tail lamps you do need an upgraded circuit protected taillight converter for the wiring system on your vehicle. It protects your Lexus from electrical shorts and mis-wire situations.
I do have the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118478, for your 2005 Lexus RX330. This wiring harness will include the converter that you will need to protect the vehicles wiring and sensitive circuitry.
I am sending a link to the installation instructions of the Tow Ready wiring harness.
Also needed will be the Curt Ball Mount, # C45010, and the Pin and Clip, # PC3. You will also need a hitch ball. Depending on the coupler size on the trailer you will be towing you will need either a Tow Ready 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball, # 19260, or a Tow Ready 2 inch Hitch Ball, # 19247.
I am sending a link to the instructions on the Curt hitch and also a video link to the hitch being installed on a 2007 Lexus Rx350.
