The trunk-mount bike carrier I recommend for your 2016 Elantra GT is the Thule OutWay, part # TH45JV.

This is a 2-bike carrier and uses only 2 retractable cables to hold the bike securely to your Elantra. The bike carrier also comes with locks that secure the bikes to the rack and also secures the carrier to your vehicle.

If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
