Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2006 Mazda 3, 2.3L Grand Touring
Question:
2006 Mazda 3 2.3L Grand Touring What trailer hitch should i get if i want to tow a ~450lb motorcycle with a rental trailer. Also which trailer wiring part # do i need for LED tail lights?

Expert Reply:
For your 2006 Mazda 3 Grand Touring I recommend Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24816 rated for 200 pounds tongue weight and 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight. For a ball mount Draw-Tite recommends # 3592.
If the trailer requires a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and if it takes a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring, since your Mazda 3 has the Ground Touring light package, I recommend ZCI harness # 119250KIT. This harness works with LED lights and you will not have to splice into the vehicle wiring for installation!
