Troubleshooting Landing Gear that Clicks and Will Not Lower on 2006 Keystone Montana

Question:

What is the correct replacement landing gear for a 2006 Montana mountaineer 342 pht. I have changed the motor, the gear box, the fuses and the switch and it still clicks and will not lift the rv.

The correct replacement landing gear legs are the Lippert Replacement Lead Leg for Kestone Montana 5th Wheel # LC178653 and the Replacement Follow Leg # LC178652.

You mentioned that you've already replaced the motor and switch, # # LC217884, and the gear box # LG-179015. Since you've already replaced these components, it sounds like your landing gear is not getting enough power for the system to work. I recommend checking your trailer batteries to ensure they are fully charged. If the batteries are not fully charged, it can cause the landing gear to click as it tried to operate the landing gear legs. Without full power reaching the landing gear there is not enough power for the jacks to work properly.

Another thing to check is the ground location for your landing gear. The ground needs to be attached at a clean, bare metal spot on the trailer's frame. If the ground location has any corrosion or rust, try moving the ground to a clean location that will offer better contact for the ground. If the ground is insufficient, the circuit will not complete and the battery will not power the jacks.

The landing gear on your camper was designed and made specifically for the Montana, so if you decide to replace your landing gear legs you will want to use the replacement lead and follow legs rather than the Ultra-Fab set you referenced.
